Jack and Jennifer are fumbling to mend their tattered marriage. As Jennifer reaches out to another man for fulfillment, Jack resorts to writing his detective novel, a process that blurs his sense of reality and fiction as he confronts his fears and desires, even striking up a too-close-for-comfort relation with his own therapist.
