Superheroes exist in our culture in a very similar way that mythology existed to ancient cultures. Basically the iconic superheroes are the most recent legends we tell ourselves. The medium has shifted from oral tradition to comics and movies, but Superheroes are the new Heroes. They are what we aspire to. So what happens when we try to live up to all they represent? And what happens when we try to live up to what they literally are?
