Tickling Leo

Rating: 4.0/5 (1 vote cast)

When Zak and his girlfriend Delphina visit his estranged father for Yom Kippur in the Catskills, they find him suffering from dementia and inadvertently uncover a dark family secret from WWII: an impossible sacrifice Zak's grandfather (Eli Wallach) made to join Rudolf Kasztner's controversial freedom train out of Hungary. Tickling Leo is a contemporary drama that follows three generations of a Jewish family whose secrets threaten to wipe away its future.
Why It's FilmBuff
Inspired by the World War II Kasztner Affair, this family drama begins like most family dramas with a father-son disconnect. However, the film manages to change the game when adding a family secret subplot based on actual WWII events. To our delight, Eli Wallach (an actor finding a second coming as of recently) works wonders as the protagonist's grandfather.
